CONGRATULATIONS to 7th grade BRES student Maxine on winning the Webster Beal Music Scholarship presented by the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor.
Maxine completed the Webster Beal scholarship application and was then selected based on her essay by the Webster Beal committee. The award will enable her to pursue her dream of voice lessons. We cannot wait to see her perform one day at our beloved Opera House!
The Webster Beal Fund was established by the friends of two local music icons – Arthur Webster and Danny Beal – to keep their memory alive while fostering a lifelong love of music in our Boothbay region students. The Fund has helped families underwrite the cost of music lessons, voice lessons, instrument rentals and purchases and travel to participate in music festivals. Students in elementary, middle and high school are encouraged to apply.
